RESUMO

Aim: Limited data are available regarding ALI's clinical relevance and prognostic value in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after hepatectomy. Materials and methods: HCC patients who received hepatectomy at the Meizhou People's Hospital from May 2011 to February 2022 were enrolled in the study cohort. The ALI was calculated as follows: ALI = BMI (kg/m2) × ALB (g/dL)/(absolute neutrophil count/absolute lymphocyte count). The primary outcome was overall survival (OS). The secondary outcome was cancer-specific survival (CSS). Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed, followed by nomogram construction and decision curve analysis (DCA). Results: 425 HCC patients were enrolled for analyses. Lower preoperative ALI was significantly correlated with incomplete tumor capsule and advanced tumor stage. Lower preoperative ALI was an adverse independent prognostic factor for OS (HR: 1.512, 95% CI: 1.122-2.039, P 0.007) and CSS (HR: 1.754, 95% CI: 1.262-2.438, P <0.001) in HCC patients. The nomogram plot was built based on three (including age, TNM stage, and ALI) and two (including TNM stage and ALI) independent prognostic factors for OS and CSS, respectively. Further analyses indicated that the nomogram had better predictive value and some net benefit than the traditional TNM stage alone, especially in long-term OS. Conclusions: Our study further indicated that ALI could be a prognostic marker for OS and CSS in HCC patients after hepatectomy, especially in long-term OS.

RESUMO

The potential application of dendritic cells (DC) sensitized with cytosine-phosphoric acid-guanine (CpG) oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) and tumor antigen as a vaccine against murine melanoma was investigated with freshly isolated mouse bone marrow-derived dendritic cells. For the DC vaccine preparation, DC were sensitized with the B16 tumor antigen and CpG ODN was used to promote further maturation of the DC. The immunogenic activity of the vaccine was evaluated in vitro by determining the proliferation of T lymphocytes and the killing effect of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) on B16 tumor cells. The DC vaccine was injected intraperitoneally and tumor inhibition in mice bearing B16 xenografts was examined. All mice were cared for under an approved SIMM Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocol. In vitro, this DC vaccine promoted the proliferation of T lymphocytes and showed a potent killing effect on the target B16 cells. In vivo experiments showed that after treatment or pre-immunization both the tumor volume and weight were significantly decreased. The DC vaccine with CpG ODN and tumor antigen exhibited an inhibitory effect against melanoma, providing a potential method for melanoma cancer treatment.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effects of repair operation by hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy and transvaginal on menstruation time, intrauterine pregnancy rate and recurrence rate of patients with PCSD. Methods 100 patients with PCSD were chosen from January 2014 to January 2016 and divided into A group (50 patients) with repair operation by hysteroscopy and laparoscopy and B group (50 patients) with repair operation by transvaginal; the operation time, the intraoperative blood loss, the vaginal bleeding time after operation, the anal exsufflation for first time, the hospital stay, the menstruation recovery effect, the width and depth of uterine diverticulum before and after treatment, intrauterine pregnancy rate and recurrence rate with follow-up of both groups were compared. Results The operation time of B group were significantly better than A group (P < 0.05). The intraoperative blood loss, vaginal bleeding time after operation and hospital staying time of A group were significantly better than that in B group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the anal exsufflation for first time between the two groups (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in the menstruation recovery effect between the two groups (P > 0.05). The width and depth of uterine diverticulum after treatment of both groups were significantly better than that before treatment (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the width and depth of uterine diverticulum after treatment between the two groups (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in the intrauterine pregnancy rate and recurrence rate between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Repair operation by hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy and transvaginal in the treatment of patients with PCSD possess the same clinical effects; repair operation by hysteroscopy and laparoscopy can efficiently reduce the trauma degree in operation and shorten the vaginal bleeding time after operation and hospital staying time, and repair operation by transvaginal possess the advantage including more simply operation and lower operation difficulty.
